The course is split into theory and practical.
The theory will be detailed from the structure of the skin, skin functions, the ageing process, and common skin conditions. Relevant anatomy – bones and muscles for massage techniques. Health, safety and hygiene, salon hygiene routines, cross contamination, etc. Consultation, client record keeping, forms, etc. Treatment plan, set routine, aftercare and homecare advice given to the client at the end of the facial. Brief marketing and business basics for therapists.
The practical will be demonstrated to students in a step-by-step manner. I will show students how to prepare and set up before the client arrives; the whole skincare routine will be presented. Students are advised to watch over the routine, make notes, and ask any questions during this demonstration. The students will then work on each other, models or even fake heads (whatever feels comfortable).
Students will be invited back to do their practical assessment, for fast track this can be done on the same day, or if you feel more comfortable, you can practice at home, then come back when you feel confident enough to complete the assessment.
You will receive your certificate after passing your exam. This course is fully accredited by ABT so it is ideal for beginners who wish to start a career in the beauty industry.

The practical will be demonstrated to students in a step-by-step manner. I will also be teaching students how to do French and ombre techniques in acrylic.
Students will be invited back to do their practical assessment on their third and final day, If you feel confident enough this can be booked in the same week, or if you would like further time to practice at home you can book whenever you feel confident enough. This course also includes a free shadow appointment where you are welcome to come and watch me work on an acrylic client (separate to your course days).
